Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere overall and the ambiance throughout the Retreat is relaxing, with an emphasis on making one feel at ease. This was my first visit (9 June) and I booked for a 60 minute Stress Fix Massage. My masseuse was Madison. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. I have a number of massages over the years, including a number overseas, and I am pleased to say that today's was just about the best one I have had. I was a bit nervous because of advancing years - I was 80 in February - but Madison made me feel comfortable almost immediately. The ambiance in the massage room is geared to making one feel as relaxed as possible, gentle lighting, soft music and some aroma therapy included. The massage lasted for the full 60 minutes and was tailored to address stress and tension, focusing on shoulders, back, reflexology for both feet, and ending with shoulders and neck. My breathing at the end was very peaceful and relaxed and without much persuasion I could even have dozed off. After the treatment I was invited to use the recovery area with a lemon sorbet and coffee, and of course water. I hadn't expected that and it just rounded everything off very well. I did not have to rush at all and the room looks out on to a lovely secluded courtyard that would be great to take advantage of in warm weather. The whole area is designed to enhance the relaxation experience, where you can lie out if you want to. I have to say that Madison was excellent, I can still feel the benefits several hours later, and I will certainly look to come again before too long. Thank you. Paul
