I’ve been going to this spa since 2014 and have seen the decline in its appearance and upkeep. It needs a major overhaul and repair. Emily is amazing and I won’t see anyone else but her, but I know like I’m the past she will leave. The turnaround is too often. I come here as it’s convenient to my home and really only use it from June to sept or if I’m going in holiday during off months. It’s a shame the space isn’t maintained, even the outside area in the back is looking sad; overgrown weeds, dirty table and umbrella, major chipped paint. It’s not a nice place to work in and certainly not a nice place for a customer. Where is my money going?? Sadly I don’t see Harpenden’s space lasting. It needs some major TLC, revamp of space and air con. With covid I will only have a treatment in the back gazebo where the door can be left open as there is no ventilation in any of the rooms or in the main front room. 1. My appointment ended 15 minutes early oppose to the full 60 minutes treatment. The staff at the branch told me they need to close straight after my appointment. I felt rush and was told several times that the shop needs to close straight after my appointment. 2. During the facial cleansing session, the beautician was not able to cleanse my face properly. She repeatedly use the same area of the cloth to clean the whole face. I can still feel the residual of the facial scrubs left after my facial. 3. I was told to offer some water after my appointment but this was neglected. I was pitched by two different types of Elemis facial cleanser balm instead. This doesn't feel professional.

In my opinion and from the experience I had, it's not a good place to have a pedicure.

Reception was absolutely lovely, but sadly the lady who did my nails I felt wasn’t experienced, My nails had lots of streak marks, blochy paint and just not a standard I’ve experienced before. Such a shame.

Extremely painful waxing experience. Several sections missed. Appointment lasted 15mins, and the results showed. Did not use a towel around the lower back, and wax was left on my clothes.

I took my mum to the Cove Spa Harpenden for a luxury pedicure on Saturday 7th Sept as a special treat for her Birthday. I'm a Complimentary therapist myself of over 15 years & usually do my mums pedicures, however we thought a change may be nice and I could treat myself. Whilst the two girls were lovely, the treatments provided were no where near worth the cost or time we spend in the salon. No hard skin was removed, no cuticle 'repair' was completed (cuticle was still left on my nailbed etc) the hot booties we were put in were ripped & cold & the polish was too thick and dried bumpy & curdled. I requested a refund to my original payment method from the salon due to the treatment not being as described which as a consumer you are well within your right to do and receive, however all they keep offering is a gift voucher to use within 3 months, something myself & my mum do not want as i can't imagine the treatments being of higher quality in any other salon. To say i am disappointed is an understatement & I will not be visiting this salon or any other branches.
