On the whole staff are very friendly, professional and polite. However, on my last visit I felt that staff wanted to get me in and out of the salon as quickly as possible. I usually find having my hair washed a pleasurable experience and put particular store at being given a relaxing massage. On this occasion however the experience was less relaxing with the apprentice scouring my head and digging her false nails into my scalp. The hair technician herself was lovely and friendly but there was no escaping the fact that she was rushing through the cut and styling of my hair. I don't feel she provided me with the cut that I had asked for though I could not find fault with her styling.

I was pleased with the colour , cut and customer service but the blow dry and styling wasn't good ; no products were applied before drying therefore my hair was left very dry and lacked lustre . I was given a stylist who doesn't know my hair to blow dry , so the out come wasn't good . Also the cost was much more than previous visits . After being a client of more than 10 years , this was very disappointing .

Having attended 17th January for full head highlights, I also explained I didn't like my natural colour and once foils were on could I have a warmer colour through remaining hair. I was advised it would be harder to maintain and low lights were recommended instead. I also explained, re the cut, that I did not want a bob, I wanted it shoulder length choppy style. When it had been blown the bob wasn't obvious but once home and I attempted to style it, the bob ie block of hair on both sides was obvious. Added to this was how dark my hair still was underneath and whilst my roots had been done my hair had far too many lowlights. I have been unable to return to salon any sooner than 20 days due to theatre performances and working hours but returned yesterday. Both colour tech and stylist agreed it was dark and hair was still bobbed and could offer me a treatment that would normally cost £18. I was shocked and stunned when I was still charged £122, therefore it's cost me £250 in 20 days.

I feel that 90% of the time was used for washing, blow drying and hard selling on your products. It was a bit too obvious and not convincing. My hairstylist said that the mousse applied on my hair(and trying to upsell) thicken the hair shaft, but I felt that my hair feels thinner.

Sorry but I won't be returning to or recommending The Colour Room I used to come here regularly pre-pandemic and was always more than happy to pay that bit extra as I felt like I was getting exceptional service and quality in a premium salon. Not anymore! It feels and looks cold, drab and clinical. I wasn't offered a drink. I had sooo loose much cut hairs round my neck, as it wasn't covered properly, the answer to which was to just got blow with the hair dryer. down my top!!!, leaving me insanely itching all day at work!! My hair cut was ok but it left me looking like I have smaller eyes and a fatter face. It is too heavy round the front sides. I will be going back to my cheap and cheerful local salon next week to get it rectified.I believe the back looks quite nice but I wouldn't know as I didn't get shown it. And to top it off my kneck is red and sore from all the loose cut that wasn't brushed off and where the scissors kept touching my neck!! Sorry to give such a negative review but I am really struggling to find the positive. It was a last minute decision that I regret.
