I felt that the lady doing my hair was preoccupied doing another customer's hair at the same time as mine, so I felt like it was a bit rushed. She was really lovely and like my haircut so I can't complain too much, it's just not my normal experience at S55.

Very friendly and professional in general, and excellent finished result!! Very happy with Salon 55 and will be returning. One tiny criticism would be, after prompt arrival and being shown to a salon chair, I was left to wait for nearly 15 minutes and, though I was given a cup of tea during this time and had magazines nearby to read, I did wonder if they had forgotten about giving me a hair cut!

The stylist who did my hair is wonderful but the lady who did the shampooing was too aggressive, a lot of tugging, I felt like my hair was getting caught on something which I think was a ring she had on. I didn’t enjoy the shampooing at all and just wanted it to be over. I’ve had 3 bad experiences at this salon. One where I had a terrible haircut (I wouldn’t return to that stylist again), the second was a trim done by one of the newer girls (which took nearly 1 hour and it looked like she didn’t know what she was doing). Then there is this time with the painful shampooing. It’s a friendly salon overall and the shampooing is a learning curve for the newer staff. I’m happy with my stylist and would return but only to the staff members I trust.

I normally book with the cheaper stylists but my one was away so had to go slightly more expensive which I assumed would be a better cut, I asked the stylist to even up both sides, normally my hair is dried and then checked the stylist just cut it, rough dried it and never checked, I am now walking around with an uneven side. I'm unable to get back in due to work so will get this corrected by my normal stylist when I return.

The confidence of the young stylist has progressed from my last Unfortunately I got wet at hair washing station, I do think all this is due to nerves, hopefully this will improve as stylist matures with experience.
