Great cut, not great styling - when going to a curly salon, I don't expect to need to wash my hair when I get home - it was super frizzy and straight when I got home (styling cream only on the bottom third of my hair). I also asked for one inch off, and she took off three.

The salon was very messy, no juniors or receptionist and as this was a busy Saturday I was surprised. In addition I think that one of the staff was off sick too. Despite this everyones did their best to help and George was so pleasant and kind. I sadly wasn’t able to come back another day as requested, I booked my appointment straight after lockdown and had waiting a few months to get this appointment. Overall I’m pleased with my curly cut and advice provided and will return but only because this is the only curly hair salon on my area and George was so lovely. The staffing needs to be reviewed even though everyone did their best to help.

The service and staff are excellent but my hair was not what I was hoping for. After a lengthy chat about my hair and 3 hours in the salon, my hair was so tightly coiled that in all honesty I looked like a young Shirley Temple, at 57 it wasn’t a good look for me. I thanked the stylist for the time she had dedicated to me but unfortunately I’m not the kind of person to complain. I then bought products, I had said I would order online (because I just wanted to get out of the salon as I felt everyone was staring at my hair) but was told ‘oh but then you have to pay p&p, I can give u a discount if you buy 5 products but when asking the prices, I was told ‘this is £20ish, this is £30ish’ so I had no clue what I was spending. All the products that were used on my hair, 8 in total were laid out in front of me, and me being me, I felt obliged. When I got in the car and really looked at my hair and touched the back, it was so heavy with product, clearly just to tame it, stupidly I then touched my face and clearly the huge product mix didn’t agree with me, plus the smell of all the products was pretty strong. A 7 hour journey in total, plus 3 hours in the salon then home to wash my hair as 1 - I looked silly and 2 - my hair felt and smelt overpowering. I have messaged the owner but so far no reply.

This was my third time at Nuala Morey and although I didn’t have a bad experience and I am happy with the cut, I do feel like my experiences in the past were better. The staff were more informative, took the time to make me feel pampered and was generally better. For the amount you pay to come to a salon like this I feel there could be more done to the interior decor to make it seem like a more premium experience.

Fantastic cut from Paula, can’t praise her highly enough. But she was run off her feet trying to do 3 people at once. I waited half an hour downstairs which felt grim and stuffy and it felt a bit like being in a conveyor belt. Your website is misleading; I thought there would be a chance to eat something as I had missed lunch to get there.

Hair cut was good and would recommend to curly girls. I feel like the salon could now do with perfecting some of the soft touches to make the experience really inviting and first class: Difficult to get hold of anyone on phone on reception. Also, website not updated so I sadly missed my hair colour due to miscommunication regarding the allergy testing. I think the decor is a bit mismatch and it leaves a slightly busy feel to the salon.. it’s also quite busy in there. Salon decor could do with update as is a bit grubby and bits falling apart eg flooring. I feel if senior hairdressers are wishing to give direction to others, it would be nice if they also acknowledged the client and explained what they were suggesting. Merely talking to the hairdresser over the client can feel a little tense and uncomfortable, like criticism of hairdresser that you have and anxiety around what’s happening to your hair. These aspects are the softer bits - ultimately I want a good hair cut, which is what I always receive here...I feel comfortable knowing they can deal with my hair type.
