For what was offered, the haircut seemed quite overpriced. I typically go to bonomini and find their environment much more professional and I am much more willing to pay the price for what is offered there. I overheard another stylist speaking to a client and she was quite rude to a client that was upset.

I really hate my haircut. I cried all the walk home. I’d asked to keep the length, but I wanted my hair to be healthy and the split ends to be removed. Maybe I just didn’t understand how much was going to be cut off but I feel like it was way more than the stylist said it would be. She also suggested that some of the pieces around my face be a little shorter, but I didn’t realise she meant to cut them to my cheekbones. I hate them. I also didn’t feel like we spent enough time chatting in the pre-interview. She cut my hair very quickly, I felt like most of the time I was there was spent having my hair washed or dried. Some people really enjoy the pampering experience, but I just wanted a good hair cut for my curly hair. I felt like I was paying for someone to wash and carefully dry my hair, and try and sell me products.

The welcome and being settled in were very nice, with the junior being very helpful. The stylist made conversation awkward and the blow dry was terrible. My hair looked better when I arrived than when I left. I'm hopeful that my hair will look better after I have washed and dried it myself. Previous visits to the salon were good so hopefully this was just a pne-off.

I wasn't very impressed with the service because I didn't realise the main focus was on products. I was told I would get 15 mins of consultation, but asked if the top layer of my hair could be cut shorter and the bottom layers less (as they are more curly and I want them to be more visible) and showed pictures for examples. The lady cutting my hair said she could do that for me, also asked if I wanted face framing pieces. I got no face framing pieces because she cut my hair too short so it's all the same length (I thought you specialised in cutting curly hair so knew it would bounce back and be shorter once product is put in and dried) and some bits are choppy and there are no layers. It looks nothing like the photos I showed. :( It was my first time at the salong, so I think communication would be really helpful to avoid customers getting the wrong cut, as the only words the hairstylist said to me really in between start and finish were 'is that looking okay for you?' and I said yeah I think I'm quite happy with the length - she then cut my hair for a few more minutes and took me upstairs for the wash. I didn't realise when she asked that she meant do you want anything else done because I'm finishing now. If this was made clear I would've pointed out these issues with the haircut at the time. There were people sat getting their hair cut before I got mine, who were still there after I came back from my wash. They also got proper consultations. I don't know why my actual cutting process only lasted 15 minutes. Everyone I told was shocked because it even takes longer to cut men's hair. The reason I asked for my hair to be layered with the top bit cut more was because I know my hair and I know the top bit doesnt curl as much. The hairstylist said she understood that and proceeded to cut my hair in the way I didnt ask for. She said at the end that the way to 'keep those outside bits curly' was to put product in it. I always put product in my hair but I know the outside doesnt curl that well. I didn't go to the salon to get told to use more products, I went to get a haircut that suited my specific hair type. Which I thought you specialised in. It seems most of the money and time towards the appointment goes into hair washing and putting products in and diffusing. Which is fine if you want to wow customers who have never used hair products or a diffuser before, so they might invest. But for those of us who know to already do that, it's a bit misleading that you 'specialise in cutting wavy/curly hair' because from my experience you don't. I know I paid for the cheapest specialist but I thought she'd be able to do a better job than just putting products on my hair really. Thanks for reading this and I really hope it makes a difference - I think the way you advertise your salon could be different in the sense that it could be clearer that what you're paying for isnt a really expensive CUT, it's really expensive because of the products and time used to wash and style and dry hair.

Unfortunately, I had a really disappointing experience at the salon. I was booked in for a cut and colour and ended up leaving without it being coloured as the hairdresser ran out of time. I was told that they needed to do a colour test on my hair to see how a colour would turn out but wasn't informed that if I had this done, it would mean no time left to actually dye my hair. So so disappointing especially after having paid £23 for the colour test passport. Complete waste of money! I was told that I could be booked in another time for the colour but as I had specifically booked the appointment for a wedding at the weekend this wasn't an option. The cut was also very disappointing. The first thing I said was that I was trying to grow out my hair and although I appreciate that the damaged ends needed to be removed, I left the salon with hair far shorter than what I wanted. Not only this, but the cut was not up to standard, I have differing lengths on each side of my head and underneath section at the back, is so much shorter than the top layer - this has lead to be now having a scraggly top layer of hair without any thickness to it. Extremely disappointing hair cut for £100.

I asked about colour testing and it was ignored. I asked for colour advice and was told maybe different highlights to discuss during cutting. But it wasn’t revisited.
