Although the hair cut is a reasonably good cut I specifically asked for minimal length to be taken from my hair, which was well past shoulder length. I have now got a cut that has some chunks of hair above ear length. The hairdresser just kept cutting more and more length off until I had to ask whether they were going to stop. When the hair was dried it jumped up even further (being really curly) and when I pointed out that it's really short and I asked not to lose the length the hairdresser told me that it was curly and had jumped up after drying. I assumed the price I had paid for a specialist in curly hair would have meant this was not going to come as a surprise. I know it'll grow and the cut itself is fairly good but feel quite disappointed with the final outcome as was not what I had asked for.

I had the curly cut but she didn’t do much of the twist cutting at all, just a few twists at the very end. It felt like I basically had a dry hair cut with a an hour of diffusing at the end. So just a very overpriced dry cut!

I booked a cut and blow dry because that's what I always book when I go to the hairdressers. During the appointment, the hairdresser asked if I wanted a curly cut and when she explained what that was I thought yeah ok if that's what you think is best - go nuts. At no point did she mention that for some insane reason having wavy hair cut costs £24 more than not wavy hair. I was totally blindsided at the till when asked to pay the difference from my £30 deposit, expecting it to be around £20 and being told it was £46. This really should have been mentioned at the start when we discussed it. I've since looked at all the pricing on your website, which admittedly I should have done before booking. But I honestly cannot fathom why you are charging so much more money for just doing the cut and wash in a different order?! Essentially penalizing people with curly or wavy hair which you claim to champion. The service overall was fine but nothing to write home about and definitely not worth £76. The cut is what I asked for and the finish was nice. I just don't understand the pricing and wish I'd been warned a bit better!

My stylist was lovely so I did not have the heart to tell her this, but I feel like my hair has been ruined. I arrived completely satisfied with my hair; shape and length. During my first visit in March I told my stylist that my goal was to improve my hair’s health and length. There was what was described to me as a ‘step’ in my hair at the back and I explained I wanted to work towards it all being the same length. After my first visit I wasn’t loving the way it was styled and dried, but happy with the cut. I decided to go again and explain that I prefer my curls less clumped together, and that I only came for a trim. I left looking like my hair has shrunk and hardly enough length to put into a ponytail. The stylist also decided to add a layer at the back despite my goal of achieving an even length all round. I am not happy at all with the end result and feel like I’ve paid £125 for nothing. I’d been on a very long journey with my hair - trimming it myself and and working on its health. Before March I’d not had a stylist touch my hair for 15 years, and now I feel like those 15 years have been reversed. The photo with this review shows my hair before today’s cut (mirror pic in the salon) and afterwards (selfie). You can see for yourself it is ruined.

Everyone at the salon was very nice. Unfortunately I don’t think I received expert advice . I made it clear that I really wanted an easy hairstyle that I could easily manage on my own but I was told that I have complicated hair and it will never be easy. Although my hair looked super cute when I left the salon, I was unable to duplicate the results from my “curly clinic” experience. Also, the products that were recommended and I purchased (for a LOT of money) turned out to be the opposite of what I needed. I have super coarse and thick hair and the recommended products were for “fine, thin or limp hair” (I didn’t read the bottles until I got home). I switched back to my other products and directed my husband on how I wanted my hair cut, and now I am enjoying my hair for the first time. I traveled quite a distance based on what I saw on Instagram and was very excited to have Nuala style my hair, however I’m sorry to say that I cannot recommend this salon.
