Not a good place to get a short hair style with the younger stylist (very young and still £80!). She was sweet but was very reticent/unsure on how to give me the style I wanted and resulting style was a slightly mumsier (much less flattering) version of my own hair, so very disappointing but hard to give immediate feedback in how to fix it. Emailed salon cistomer service 48 hrs ago that I was in tears after and have received no response.

Unfortunately, I had a really disappointing experience at the salon. I was booked in for a cut and colour and ended up leaving without it being coloured as the hairdresser ran out of time. I was told that they needed to do a colour test on my hair to see how a colour would turn out but wasn't informed that if I had this done, it would mean no time left to actually dye my hair. So so disappointing especially after having paid £23 for the colour test passport. Complete waste of money! I was told that I could be booked in another time for the colour but as I had specifically booked the appointment for a wedding at the weekend this wasn't an option. The cut was also very disappointing. The first thing I said was that I was trying to grow out my hair and although I appreciate that the damaged ends needed to be removed, I left the salon with hair far shorter than what I wanted. Not only this, but the cut was not up to standard, I have differing lengths on each side of my head and underneath section at the back, is so much shorter than the top layer - this has lead to be now having a scraggly top layer of hair without any thickness to it. Extremely disappointing hair cut for £100.

I asked about colour testing and it was ignored. I asked for colour advice and was told maybe different highlights to discuss during cutting. But it wasn’t revisited.

i haven’t been to a salon in over 31 years as they never listen to what i want and always chop lots off so i stopped going. Nuala’s salon was unfortunately the same. i was very nervous and excited all at the same time when i arrived. i spoke to the stylist about what id like and although she was extremely lovely i feel she didn’t listen to what i wanted. i said i wanted to grow my hair and that the top especially was very short. also that id like a brown colour all over with some copper highlights. when it was finished my hair looked absolutely awful. i was in utter shock. the cut was very very short. my wavy hair was incredibly straight, especially on top where a lot had been taken off. the colour! … i looked like i had one of those orange wigs on that u wear with a kilt for a joke outfit. it was so awful, again i was in total shock. we tried between us to scrunch it up and the stylist washed it again a few times and said maybe it was the products. i burst in to tears, i couldn’t believe that this amazing looking salon on social media could of done this to my hair. i went home n floods of tears and in shock. my fiancé took me to asda so i could buy a brown hair dye (which is what colour i wanted in the first place along with SOME highlights ) and put it on. it looked so much better. i cried all night at the length as i’ve been growing my hair for a while and id not long had it cut so thought it didn’t need much taken off at all. i’m not only back to square one with it, im -10. this experience has completely put me off ever going to a salon ever again. im so upset i can’t quite believe this has happened. the stylist told me she would tell the owner and i was kinda expecting a phone call or text but nothing as yet. oh well, i’ve learned my lesson. NEVER AGAIN!

I’m not sure if this was just a bad day for the salon as I know someone was off sick and my colour had to be cancelled, but I found the depiction of this place from the website and the reality of it very different. I’d travelled 2 hours to have this appt and had waited for 6 weeks for a slot that I could attend so maybe my hopes were too high. . They did end up fitting me in for a cut which I was grateful for but the communication and feeling of being taken care of in this, wasn’t really there and I was told I could still come about 5 minutes before my appt time. . It felt like everyone was kind of “leaning back” and what I felt mostly is that there wasn’t any solid leadership to give the salon a sense of safety, holding and clarity. I felt like an annoyance and no-one seemed to be really into what they were doing. The cut was pretty good and she took time and care so I can’t fault the stylists skills. The overall experience was just really lacking and as someone who works in a service role I would not recommend this to anyone w anting something new or a needing advice about their hair. If you’re able to roll with the slightly icey, aloof vibe then this place might be for you, but I much prefer a place that feels solid and anchored in what’s it’s delivering and is able to meet you in heart and presence.
