Sandra & Monica are lovely, they are the salon's greatest assets.. The atmosphere is bleak, lacking light (especially the flattering light which is critical to any day spa or salon). My greatest disappointment is the total absence of warmth. Visiting a salon is about the expertise of the stylists; great treatment/cut/colour but it is also about the experience. A salon should be a place of beauty, contribute to relaxation (many offer massages/head massages etc); LUXURY and fun. This is Notting Hill - we like luxury, warmth and fun. It also would have been a basic standard of respect for your clients to let them know that prices would be changed. And that in exchange for the higher prices, we would receive less than ever. Including paying for simple pleasures that most spas and salons offer graciously. Notting Hill is a well heeled community. If you are going to raise your prices, consider why we would continue to patronise the salon? Especially without the warmth & generosity of the previous atmosphere? You are catering for the community - not just meeting a conceptual agenda. There is nothing new in the rebranded space that justifies the elevated pricing structure. No salon charges for tea or snacks. This comes across as petty, lacking grace and sophistication. The relationship to & managing the expectations of your clientele is your bread & butter. The quality of the experience is greatly reduced. The impression is that one is being taken advantage of.
