I booked my daughter and son in and noone specified anything about how much I was wanting to cut off. The stylist who saw my son was great but the lady that was meant to cut my daughter refused to see her because of how much I wanted off. Found another hairdressers who were fantastic round the corner - house of hair and beauty and now our whole family will be moving hairdressers! We've been at Jo and Cass for years but definitely been put off now.

Hi Joe and Cass, I would like to complain about my latest experience at Jo and Cass. I have only just got over the nightmare where I can talk about it and email you. I Booked appointment online on Thursday 28 March. I called Preston Jo and Cass in the morning on Friday 29 March to voice our concern that Our son is 2.5yrs old and check who he was booked in with? We were informed it was a senior stylist, Victoria, who has experience with working with children and not to worry. Saturday 30 march, attended Jo and Cass at 4.20pm for appointment that was scheduled at 4.30pm. We got taken to seat where stylist can cut Or sons hair and asked to wait for stylist to return. She asked how we would like his hair cutting, we showed her a picture and she said she doesn’t work with clippers so she’ll have to see if someone else would be able to do Sons haircut. That’s when we realised it’s not the stylist we were booked in with (ie Victoria). Upon her return, we asked the stylist her name, she advised Amy and that she’s new and only does scissor cuts. Amy advised that no other stylist was available and asked if we wanted to reschedule but we reluctantly asked her to cut Son’s hair using scissors (as our whole day was planned around Son’s haircut). Amy started cutting our Son’s hair while he was asleep but as he woke up he was started crying, that’s when Amy said she wouldn’t be able to carry on and wanted to stop. We managed to calm Our son and asked Amy to continue, which she did. That’s when my husband was asked to pay for Son’s haircut, part way through the haircut, which he did as it was close to closing time. As soon as my husband paid for the haircut Amy said she wasn’t comfortable and wanted to stop, we asked Amy to clean up the sides (near the ears) and then she can stop, which Amy complied. We are totally appalled by their service and I was left in tears when I left. We were assured that the haircut was going to be with a senior stylist, Victoria but we were left with Amy, who was not confident cutting a little boys hair. We were asked to reschedule the appointment but we had planned the whole day around our little boys haircut. We were asked to pay half way through the haircut so that the salon can close at 5pm. In hindsight, we wouldn’t have paid until we were satisfied with the haircut, which we weren’t as Amy took off a very small amount of hair and wasn’t confident cutting a little boys hair. Amy didn’t even use a spray bottle to wet the hair before she cut it. Amy did the best she could and kept apologising that she wasn’t the stylist we were booked in with. I have previously been to Jo and Cass numerous times and been happy with the service. I was expecting the same kind of service however I was left in tears due to the whole situation. I await to hear back from yourself as to how you can resolve this issue. Kind Regards Sumaiya PS. Amy did the best she could but she was put in a difficult position by Jo and Cass. We have lost confidence in Jo and Cass due to our latest experience. I spoke to a gentleman before we left with regards to our experience and he advised me to email you with any complaints as he noticed I was in tears when I was leaving.

I’m not one to usually complain. But your prices online are completely different to what I payed a cut and wash online is £32.50 with £9.60 to be paid online as a deposit. Then in the salon I paid 34.95 in person with was including student discount. Which I think is completely unfair/ unreasonable. Totally about £45. Additionally my hair dresser was brutal with the hair brush and cut my hair wet but didn’t double check it once dry leaving a few strands longer which I had to cut myself once home. Overall experience was disappointing

The stylist looked in a hurray. Hard brushes on the scalp, inspite of telling her at the start to be gentle. The clipper machine was being run on the head as if it was running on a road. I asked for a glass of water but the girl never acknowledged. Terrible experience, not returning again

I was a regular client up until February 2022 where I decided to grow my hair out. This I did and booked my appointment 2 weeks ago with the person who had always previously done my hair and I was happy with the service I received. On the morning of my appointment I received a call to say he would be unable to do do my hair and another stylist was available of the same standard. If I wasn’t going on holiday I would have postponed and now I wish I had! I went in with reference pictures of what I was wanting, all long gentle v cuts with layers and face framing with curtain bangs. Something easy to style and still be able to but in a high pony.The stylist agreed to this and before washing used clippers to get some of the length down before washing. I don’t know whether he then forgot what pictures I showed him but he proceeded to tell me where he would take the length to. That’s not the length I now have. He’s done a good cut but not at all what I asked for. He even did what he said he wouldn’t do which is take it to a length that kicks out. I now can’t have my hair up other than in a low pony and it is back to where it was a year ago. All I can do is now wait for it to grow. I feel bad that I didn’t say something at the time but I hate confrontation and I was trying to be positive, writing this isn’t something I would ever normally do, but I feel gutted, it took me a year to get to that length and I’m now stuck with a hairstyle where it kicks out and I can’t do any of the things I mentioned. I wanted volume, big bouncy, easy to style and most of all to look like the pics I took as reference I can’t even see the length when I bring it forward. It’s like a long layered bob cut straight no v in sight. Gutted to say the least! Staff were nice, friendly I do think my stylist could have talked more. I was doing all the talking and I don’t even talk that much! Just a shame he couldn’t follow my requests and gave me what I didn’t ask for and what he said he wouldn’t do. I still can’t get over how short my hair is. It mentions below about someone contacting me but what’s the point they can’t stick my hair back on. The fear I had of hairdressers had diminished after having such a good stylist previously but it’s now come back tenfold. I don’t think I will be stepping inside a salon for a very long time!
