After being a customer a number of years ago, I've recently returned to Sloanes and my last two experiences were really positive — I left feeling great each time, and really loving my hair. Something I'd struggled to find at other salons. This visit started off great as normal — Ashleigh was lovely as always talking me through what we were going to do and the head and shoulder massage was really enjoyable. However,from then on, unfortunately, the experience became uncomfortable and left me leaving very upset. On playing with my hair after leaving the salon I could feel that the colour hadn't been washed out properly and my hairline is badly stained. Two things which I've had before at other salons but was really pleased not to experience since returning to Sloanes. The blow dry was a very uncomfortable and very unenjoyable experience. It was far too rough and a lot of the time painful. The brush was scrapped over my ear, my wet hair was pulled and sectioning it off hurt but the most uncomfortable part was the ends of my hair continuosly becoming tangled during the blow dry. After a couple of occasions of the ends being tangled I looked up to see the stylist unpicking a large knot. After trying to untangle it for a while, the pulling began to make my stomach feel a little uneasy and wanting the experience to end as quickly as possible I asked if it would be best to cut it out but was informed this occurs quite often when blow drying. While this may be true for some people, I found it concerning as it's not something that I have personally experienced while getting my hair blow dried or doing it myself. The stylist often invaded my personal space with their body touching my entire forearm a sustained time and on more than one occasion. While I understand this can happen, it not something that I have experienced to this extent before and felt extremely uncomfortable in the situation especially given the stylist was of the other sex. I left feeling extremely upset by the experience. I travel almost 20 miles to visit Ashleigh and, for me personally it's a large expense to visit every 2 months but it was a decision that I made as I was confident that I'd have a great experience and would leave loving my hair. I'm sorry and sad that I've had to leave a bad review but felt I needed to given that I didn't feel able to speak up while in the salon.
