This was my second appointment and second experience of brow tinting. I have pale skin and light hair so emphasised that I wanted light brown tint and did not want statement dark brown brows.The result was exactly what I did NOT want, though the same lady had done it better the first time. She spent time trying to reduce the colour but it was not satisfactory.

For a man's Manicure which is quoted on the website at £23 and Pedicure at £27 the cost would be £50. We were charged £65. For the two of us £130 I did query this and they seem unable to work this out and the person said they were looking at the website the same as me. Under the menu it does mention Duration 30 minutes £30. Should it be what you see is what you pay. Not hidden extra costs? The treatment you receive seems to be based on the person who does your treatment. Myself I did not get as much time as the person I was with a duration of some ten minutes less than they got, in total for both treatments. I noticed that on the manicure I did not receive hand cream or massage as the other person I was with got. When I asked. The person who did the other manicure did this for me. There does not seem a set process for what is carried out in treatments. When it came to payment and how are you paying for this. It seemed take longer than both my treatments. I have been here before and have received better treatment and service. Will I be returning NO. Jarrolds has a fine reputation for quality and service in this instants it was not so.

Children running around in spa , then watching tv on mother’s iPhone with volume up. Not what I would expect from any spa. I could have stayed and home and done my nails myself if I wanted that environment and saved myself £40. Very poor

This was the first time I had visited the Retreat. I arrived on time but it was not clear where I would register/check in. Not seeing what I found out later was the desk I did see a door above which was signage referring to the Retreat. I went through the door and down the staircase. After sitting on one of the two chairs for a few minutes a client and therapist came down the stairs. After the therapist understood why I was sitting there she went back upstairs to notify her colleague that I had arrived. On her return she apologised and said my therapist was now aware that I had arrived but would be down directly. At ten minutes after my appointment time my therapist appeared and I had my treatment. It was explained to me that there had been a desk in front of the entrance to the Retreat but that day it had been relocated. I later found out it is now opposite the entrance door to the Retreat. As you can imaging I found this initial experience of visiting the Retreat impacted on the my visit. I am not sure I would return.

Unfortunately, they had run out of the drops that help varnish to dry quickly. Was super careful for the next hour, not touching anything but it already has chips, 8 hours afterwards.

I have been visiting The Retreat Salon several times for a pamper manicure, as I really appreciate that they use high-quality OPI products. I have always been very happy with the results when Becca did my manicure, and I would highly recommend her. However, last Friday, my manicure was done by a different person, who I believe was young and relatively inexperienced. Although I usually refrain from leaving negative reviews, I feel compelled to share my experience this time. The nail polish began peeling off the very next day, which is far below the standard I would expect from a professional service. Additionally, I was disappointed immediately after the manicure was finished, as the results looked no better than what I could have achieved myself at home. For a £35 service, I expected a much higher level of quality and attention to detail.
