Megan was lovely but didn’t at any point ask me anything questions about my skin. I understand that it was a generic facial and not tailored one but everyone’s skin is different so even a verbal consultation should have been done. She started doing extraction which I found a bit strange as my skin hadn’t been steamed so my pores clearly were not open and skin wouldn’t have been soft making it easier for her and less painful for me. I asked about steaming and was told it was an extra £5 but that they will do it for me for free. The steamer wasn’t able to move so I had to awkwardly prop myself up on the side of my bed so that it wasn’t just pointing at my ear. I was definitely under the impression that facial steaming was a basic step of facial as I am in the same industry myself, unless this has changed, if so please forgive me. Anyway the facial ended up being lovely and I loved Megan’s massage techniques and it made me very sleepy and relaxed.

I have been attended this salon for well over 5 years , through two different ownership changes and covid ! When Lavender and Stone took over the business they invested in the interior and had a loyal team of staff. I had all my treatments with the same lady for many years. I did not attend the salon for at least 18 months during covid . A few months ago I went to have a pedicure , it was terrible , the lady did not know what she was doing , she was really slow at completing the treatment and worse of all, my toes were sore for weeks from the way she had cut my nails.The painting of the nails was awful with gaps and bumps ( I did complain afterwards) . On my way out the lovely receptionists reminded me that I still had treatments remaining from the packages I had bought sometime ago. Today I went to the salon to use two of them a facial and a wax. At the end I was told I would need to pay as my prepaid packages had expired at the end of 2021. When I said I had not been notified I was told it was on the website! Eventually after a call to the owners I was told todays treatments would be honoured but not the remainder of my packages ( around £80 of treatments ). The salon itself is starting to look tatty and has not been invested in. The lady who did my treatments today was lovely but not the lady I booked. Also the facial was very nice but totally different than the one I had booked or had previously , shorter and not the same experience . I won't be back . It a shame as I try and stay loyal to local businesses , maybe that the problem its now owned by a bigger group.

The waxing took an extremely long time (Double what I would expect) and not only have I been left with numerous patches of unwaxed hair I have also had areas of skin taken off which is red raw from over waxing repeated areas.

I had a pregnancy massage and although my massues was very sweet I would’ve liked to of been able to close my eyes and relax however she wanted to chat. At times it was slightly inappropriate as she discussed her own experiences with birth which weren’t always positive. I feel I wasn’t able to full relax into the massage .

The manager/ receptionist was very rude to me and made me feel uncomfortable. I have been a loyal customer for 3 years and was sad to hear that Megan had left. This lady the manager/receptionist can be quite rude and I have let this go before. But when I had paid, using a 20 percent voucher which was given by cove spa she argued with me why I had paid only 60 for the facial instead of 75, as I was served by my beautician . My Beautican replied saying I had the voucher but the manager was rude to me and I felt like I had done something wrong. I said I would show her the voucher as I felt she thought I was lying, even though I have been a loyal customer for 3 years. This experience has put me off coming back again.
