Sadly had the absolute worst haircut of my life at the salon this week. Have been left with a drastically wonky haircut (4 inches shorter on one side than the other) and not at all what I asked for. Extremely disappointing as I had travelled all the way from Norfolk to Bristol for the cut for a special treat. Now I have to pay a different hairdresser to try and sort out the mess plus wait 2 years to grow out the length that was chopped off (that I specifically asked to keep). Stylist seemed surprised at how much my hair was pinging up (its very curly - hence me traveling to a supposedly specialist curl hairdressers!) And on that basis, didn't touch the front part of my hair at all (or create the face framing pieces I asked for) as in her view 'it would be too short'. Hair was cut dry then washed, loaded with product and left. No checking I was happy, no finessing of the cut or checking to see if the curls were sitting well etc What a botch job and a shockingly bad experience. I'm absolutely gutted.

I’ve been coming to Nuala from London for nearly 3 years, which says it all. Yes there are curly hair specialists in London but I trust Nuala and her team and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I had a long wait as someone from the salon had phoned and asked me to bring my appointment forward by an hour but when I got there no one was aware so I had to sit for an hour and wait for my stylist. She was great though and my rating is solely based on the wait not the stylist

Ellie did an incredible job with my hair! I love it so much. This was my first proper curly cut and it was everything I wanted it to be. Ellie was super lovely and knowledgeable and has given me loads of great tips to look after my curly hair properly. Thanks so much.

I like my haircut but i would prefer if there was an option of making the environment less busy, loud, bright for people like me who find it stressful - kind of like quiet days in the supermarket :). There weren't any other customers when I started but it was still very loud with the staff and the dog. I guess I should have expected it but I hoped it wouldn't be as loud if I came in early in the morning. It's probably more suited to people who enjoy being stimulated but i found it a little difficult. It was nice to have a more quiet experience on the lower floor but there was still too much happening all at once. I liked the hairdresser but she could have been more delicate when going through my hair with fingers. It definitely took me back to the old days when i visited non-curly hair salon, which is not what i expected at a specialist for curly hair. I do like my haircut but I am not sure if I would come back as the whole experience left me with sensory overload and was quite expensive. I do appreciate all the hard work done with the cut and the styling and the drying, it takes a long time and you need the skills to do it all. I would recommend it to somebody who needs to get their first ever curly haircut and want a fun experience (and somebody not afraid of dogs ;)).
