Arrived and waited 25 minutes to be told the person cutting my hair was still not finished with another client. Got offered someone less qualified than service I had booked. After I pointed this out someone else then became available. Salon itself felt cheap and like it had been done on a budget. The whole finish inside on the service looked stylish but anything more than a glance and the finish just looked cheap. Had to ask for a few corrections on the cut and did not like the products used in my hair. Overall for the prices charged this far from lived up to expectations. I’ve better cuts and experiences for less than half the price. Won’t be booking again and would not recommend

Appointment booked for 15:30 for wash and blow dry,arrived in time and was advised stylist was running 5 mins late which isn't a problem...30mins later I was still waiting when finally one of the trainees took me for my hair washed without an apology. Stylist pleasant enough but nothing special

Booked and paid for wash cut and blow, the cut quite decent but the blow was none existent, instead the stylist blasted hair with dryer then wrapped hair around her finger, and secured with a clip for 5mins The blow wave which I paid for didn't happen!! I had to go home, dampen hair and blow wave myself Not sure I will be going back to Nicky Oliver

I had the most rushed haircut and worst blow dry ever. I’ve had graduate stylist doing my hair in other salons before but it was never this bad. I showed a picture at the beginning to the stylist however he didn’t seem to understand what I wanted, he was quite argumentative as well. When I said that the length of my hair is still so long, he said that he is already behind time so he will need to straighten my hair quickly and then cut again at the end. However once he started blow drying my hair, I could see how nervous he was another customer was waiting for him. He was straightening big chunks of the hair at once which made it obvious that the roots are still frizzy and curly as I naturally have curly hair. Instead of him straightening those frizzy curly bits, he hid them with the upper layer of hair. At this point I got concerned about him cutting my hair again at the end as if the hair is not straightened well then the cut won’t be even. So I just had to accept the hair length he I have. The photo I showed him was a girl with straight short hair with some volume on top, the fringe was directed backwards, there was no curls at all and I stressed on not wanting curls as I have curly hair naturally and I wanted straight look. He said he will do these curls first then go through them at the end to give a nice big wave look. However at the end my whole hair had these worm curls at the end and my hair was just lying on my eyes. I showed him the photo again and said that it doesn’t look any similar and that my hair is lying over my eyes and has zero volume. He started straightening my hair from the front quickly without looking at the reference photo. My hair started looking even worse, I had my hair with zero volume lying over my eyes and sides and from the back it had those strong curls. I even had quite rude response from the stylist when I asked for some volume, saying I can’t give you any volume with a hair straightener, he sounded a bit angry and nervous as he needed to start with the other customer.I am not satisfied with the hair cut, the styling and the service. It’s not my fault that the stylist was running behind, as a customer I shouldn’t get a terrible hair style as a result.

Requested a staff member prior to appointment. On appointment I was given someone different and wasnt made aware they where not available today. After having my hair washed,cut and a blow dry started I was passed over to another colleague. I requested a blow dry with lift. My hair had no lift what so ever. stylist even asked me if I would like straighteners running through it. I also thought it was strange that no heat defence or product was applied prior to my hair being blown. Also never been to a salon and been asked if I want the straighteners running through my hair. Maybe that's the latest trend, but I much prefer a well done blow dry, one in which actually shows I've actually been to a salon. First member of staff was engaging, sadly I wasnt made to feel a priority as she had to attend to other clients. All in all I felt rushed and didnt feel I walked out feeling great about my hair.

After reading positive reviews I decided to switch my salons and try out Nicky Oliver. I am really sad to say that I am disappointed with the service. The lady who took over my appointment after another staff member called in sick, was really lovely, but I was really confused about the whole haircutting procedure. My hair got washed, blowdried with really hot air that hurt my scalp and ear, the brushing wasn’t done gently which really hurt, I understand I had some knots but my hair has never been pulled this bad. Then, it got straightened whilst it was still damp so the steam was coming out the whole time and then my hair got cut. During the cut, the stylist kept on asking me whether my hair was straight...surely if I come to you for a haircut you should be able to know whether it is straight or not. Then after me pointing out multiple times that it wasn’t straight and more and more of my hair being cut off, I decided to say that it was fine and get out of there as quickly as possible. I attached a picture just so you understand why I am now incredibly upset. I have very long hair that I really care for and it has been treated very harshly, leaving me really disappointed with the experience.
