I had balayage with Sara at the salon on Saturday. Sara cut my hair before Christmas and I absolutely loved what she did with it. She interpreted what I wanted perfectly and recommended balayage to me for the next time I wanted my highlights topping up. I kept noticing my roots in the mirror so I decided to book balayage with Sara. She and I talked a bit first about what I wanted and I stressed that I wanted my hair to look really natural and specifically said no stripy bits! Sara seemed to understand exactly what I was looking for-a few natural blonde lights in my hair to make me look fresh. After Sara had finished blowdrying my hair beautifully I was pleased with the results int he salon mirror but the minute I left the salon and saw myself in natural light I realized that my hair looked really stripy and obvious. The balayage looks very chunky and unnatural and I feel a bit embarrassed about it because it looks quite obvious. I am wondering if the dye was left on a little too long. I know Sara is an extremely talented hairdresser and an absolutely lovely person but I was a bit disappointed by the results on this visit. It was very expensive, but I feel like I look cheap. Sara is a great hairdresser but I might no have explained clearly enough exactly what I was wanting. i will definitely come back here for my haircuts with Sara but I am a bit worried about the dye.
