The haircut as a finished style is fine. Not the best or worst. Definitely not value for money. Hardly anyone spoke to me in the salon including my stylist who was either too shy or had insufficient English to speak to me. The radio was too loud and tuned to an awful station. The hair wash was rough and uncomfortable. There was no massage. Instructions as where to put my head etc. were either given entirely by hand gesture or inaudible half sentences. The stylist used scissors to thing / fan the hair cut at the end. This was very painful and when I said it hurt the reply was simply 'I know' and I had to ask her to stop. It was not worth £50 I definitely won't be returning and will not be recommending to anyone. Quite to opposite.

The lady that cut my hair was rude and lacked customer care. My cut was jagged and I was horrified when she cut straight in to my fringe without thought. She also lacked communication skills. It was a very uncomfortable experience. When someone blames the cut they did wrong on the shape of your head or the way your hair grows rather than taking the responsibility for not informing you of this before cutting a big chunk of your hair you tend to second d guess their professionalism!

I very rarely complain about service but I'm afraid I feel compelled to do so in this instance. I recently had a colour treatment and manicure downstairs. The manicure was a very irritating experience. As well as being twice the price of all local manicures, it took three times as long. So long in fact it also mucked up my colour. The colour had been left on too long because I had disappeared downstairs for such a long time. Most manicures last at least a week before the colour starts to chip. This manicure lasted less than 24 hours. After 2 days it was so badly chipped, I had to remove all the varnish. Not exactly value for money. I think it would be great to offer manicures whilst you're having a haircut but I'm afraid I will never be using your service again. It was a complete waste of time and money.

Getting your hair cut is supposed to be a nice experience. My stylist was rude (she said my hair was straggly - there are better ways to say that!). She was very rough with my hair, kept knocking me, kept dropping the brush on the floor and left me waiting for ten minutes by myself after my wash. The hair cut is ok (I have a blunt cut, it's very easy) but the experience was bad. I won't be coming back.

Usually staff are friendly and ensure that customers are offered re- fills of water or tea. Despite the fact there were very few customers it was hard to catch a member of staff's eye to request a refill ( it was a warm day) and the usually helpful approach was a bit lacking. I've been coming for many years. My most recent visit had perhaps the most 'frosty atmosphere' in my view.

Such a pity I can't leave the glowing reviews I have done in the past, now that Nicky has left. On this occasion, I left the salon not with the dramatic, sassy cut I'd specifically asked for but with a middle-aged, safe 'do' reminiscent of daytime TV. A perfectly good cut and nothing wrong with the hairdresser's cutting skills at all. Very ladylike for someone 20 years older than me and not what I had specifically asked for. I cried all the way home, feeling frumpy and old at age 45. I should've listened to the little voice inside me and left politely when I was told I couldn't have the bob I wanted because my hair's too wiry. Ironically, the previously-mentioned Nicky gave me my best bob there 7 years ago. I don't want to embarrass anyone by mentioning names as that's just nasty, but it's interesting that my friend said she'd had a similarly awful experience with this same stylist. I went to a different salon the next day, paid the same amount again and came away with the gorgeous, sleek bob I'd asked for.
