I booked a spa day with afternoon tea (£90 each then I paid for an extra treatment for us both) for my daughters birthday today. The 4 treatments were very good (we have been to the beauty salon before and have always been pleased) but I feel like I need to give some constructive criticism having used other spa places previously and as a package I was a little disappointed with Cottesmore. Firstly at all other spa days when you book in you get a dressing gown and flip flops - we asked about this as we had to walk from the pool area to the beauty salon and you don’t want to keep getting dried and dressed and then back to pool and undress etc. The health/gym reception didn’t have any, but we did manage to get 2 dressing gowns at the beauty salon after we had to walk there in just a towel ! So first point is to provide these on arrival, the beauty salon ladies are lovely and professional and Friendly, however I do not expect to see fly rolls hanging from the ceiling covered in flies in a beauty salon (to me this is Gross!!) You need to address the fly problem with something a lot less obvious as who wants to see fly traps covered in flies in a beauty salon !!!! Thirdly, the afternoon tea was OK apart from the fact we had booked it for 2:30 - 3pm and it didn’t come out until 3:25, I was suprised how long this took to come out to us. We had to ask the waitress for more tea, serviettes, knives and butter - all things that should be brought out with the cakes and sandwiches. Not once did anyone check we were ok / enjoyed the afternoon tea or wanted anything else - again I would expect the service you get at other spa days and this was not to that standard. I am giving this feedback not to complain but to advise how you could make it a much better experience. I would come back for a beauty treatment as this is lovely (minus the hanging rolls of flies) - Unfortunately I would Not recommend this spa package to my friends as it currently is.
