Damien and Shawn are very friendly and professional. I received an excellent consultation with Shawn and subsequently a head of highlights, a cut and blow dry all of which I am delighted with. At last, I think I've found my local hairdresser, after being a bit of a Goldilocks around the salons of the area!

Shawn has transformed my relationship with my hair and helped me get it to a place where it works for me in a low maintenance way. He really knows his stuff and I now feel much more confident managing my fine curly hair

Just had my second appointment with Shawn at Damien Martin, on the recommendation of a friend. I had grown out my grey over lockdown and the first appointment was to cut the last of the old dyed hair out and have a good trim. We discussed high/lowlights as I was having trouble adjusting to my grey hair after growing up as a brunette. So, at my second appointment I went for it and we agreed on some dark lowlights and a sharper bob cut. I've never had high/lowlights before so wasn't sure what to expect, but I am so pleased with the results. The lowlights are expertly placed so that, although I still have the natural silver grey hair as a base (as I wanted), the lowlights give an overall 'dark' impression. I feel like my old self (ie. 'brunette' while 'acknowledging' my grey hair). It's the way forward for me. The cut was also great and I feel so much better. Just hope I can recreate it when I wash and blowdry, as I'm a bit low-maintenance. Shawn is easy to talk to and we had some interesting conversations, far removed from the usual 'where are you going for your holidays?' small talk, which I always dread. I think I have finally found the hairdresser for me. Whilst at the salon, Damien was dealing with another couple of customers, and it's clear that both Shawn and Damien know what they are talking about and have years of experience and knowledge, and a loyal customer base.
