I find it unfair that I had to pay for my haircut although it was not what I asked for. Having to go to another salon to pay to get it cut again is not a good solution, neither is having to wait for weeks for an appointment. I expressed my disappointment before I finished and before I made payment. I was happy to wait some time after coming on time for my appointment but in retrospect this extra waiting time and conversation about my bad haircut could’ve been used to “fix” the haircut. I would’ve been happy to come back at a later time on the day if necessary. I appreciate the half refund (that I’ve yet to receive) but I don’t think I will be returning anymore.

I was called the day before my appointment to change the timings. I rearranged my day to do this. I was then called again to say they could make the appointment earlier which I agreed to. I arrived for my appointment at the agreed time of 10am. At 10.20 the hairdresser had not yet arrived. It was suggested another stylist could wash my hair but that would have meant my stylist would not have seen my hair when it was dry. I was concerned I would be late for my rescheduled plans if I waited any longer so I left.

I asked Holly for a haircut. She did something different from what I asked. I then explained why it wasn't what I asked for. She said you should have stopped me. I reminded her that I did that. I reexplained what I wanted. She then cut it again - differently again from what I asked. I asked her to put the layers back in. She then proceeded to hack at the hair apparently indiscriminately. Astonishing experience! At one point I looked around for help in explaining what I was asking for. Holly looked at the other woman in the salon and said "she can't help you she's just an assistant"!

I think there was some miscommunication when I booked my appointment over the phone. I thought I was seeing a regular stylist but at the end of my session I was charged £60 for my wash and hair cut so I assume that my hair was cut by the artistic director. To be honest, the hair cut does not look great and certainly doesn't reflect the amount it cost. I've had a few haircuts over the years in that price range as a treat and they all looked noticeably better than my current cut. This might have been my misunderstanding again that I needed to have asked (and pay extra) to have it styled. As it stands, I paid £60 for a haircut that just didn't come out great for any amount of money (the phrase "you look like you got a monk's hair cut" has come up more than once). I moved to the area recently and was very excited to try a local salon that specialised in curly hair but was disappointed that I had better results going to a Turkish barber which cost far less. Less important, but still very noticeable, during my visit it felt like there were a number of slip ups: I was asked if I wanted a drink after we were already started (wouldn't have been possible to drink at this point), was asked if I wanted to keep my side burns after the hair cut was finished and was asked if I wanted to see the back of my head with a mirror after I was already standing getting ready to leave. Also, I think your clippers were low on battery (they sounded slow and tugged a bit when cutting). The whole experience left me feeling like I was an afterthought as a customer and I don't think this reflects what you are aiming for as a company. I will say the customers before me were clearly thrilled with the cuts you gave them so clearly something is going right, just not in my case. Best of luck going forward.

Thank you for being so welcoming while i was in your salon. Everyone was very nice especially Josh. The only reason why i didn't rate the experience very high is because the haircut took a very long time and was not great. I did not see it straight away but after coming home i realised the layers were very uneven, a whole section was not really cut while the section above was really short which gave a very odd shape to my hair. A section in the front was also cut weirdly short. All in all i was aware this could happen as i booked with Joshua who explained he was still training. I'm not very attached to my hair so i honestly don't mind that much , it will regrow in 2 weeks if anything. Joshua was lovely and I am in now way saying his service was bad, i just think he probably needs a lot more training on short hair which i know is much more difficult to cut and I wouldn't say the result was worth the price but I'm sure he will be fantastic in no time. Thank you again !
