Karlton is the best hairdresser I’ve had. He is the only hairdresser I have had who understands my hair and takes the time to explain to me what works well with it and teaches me about how to maintain it and what to do with it. He is very knowledgeable and a real expert in his craft.

I was nervous about heading to the salon as I haven’t been feeling very confident lately but I left feeling amazing! The staff were all so warm and welcoming. I was welcomed in promptly, offered a drink until my appointment time arrived and when it did I spoke to my stylist Alan who took the time to understand what I wanted and made a suitable adjustment to my request to ensure the cut I wanted was as flattering to me as possible. The lady who washed my hair was so attentive and caring (apologies for not catching the name) and then the haircut went smoothly with lots of uplifting and friendly conversation. I left feeling pretty and I am so happy with my haircut!! I could tell that even the stylists I didn’t interact with were really kind and warm because of how they were conversing and treating their clients. A lovely environment, with even better staff and talented stylists. I highly recommend them and can’t wait for my next visit!

I was called an hour before my appointment asking if they could move my appoint by 15 minutes as they were running behind with another client. I felt that this was very professional and thoughtful to call so I wouldn't be waiting for ages in the Salon. When I arrived my hairdresser was still finishing the hair of another client; but he managed to engage with me (say hello and ask how I would like my hair done that day etc...) in a way that made me feel valued and whilst still remaining focused on his other client. It wasn't a perfect situation but my hairdresser handled it quite well and another available hairdresser washed my hair as to make the process quicker. One thing I would say which would have made it a far better experience though... instead of washing my hair straight away... I would have loved to have been offered a cup of tea and just relaxed for a bit. Because what did happen was my hair was washed for a really long time (to give my hairdresser more to finish with his other client) and I find getting my hair washed in a Salon really uncomfortable. There would have been enough time for me to have drank a cup of tea and had my hair washed. On another note which I know might sound odd but links with the above; I was actually glad my hairdresser didn't rush with his other client, as I know if I had been in the same situation that's how I would have wanted to be treated. It was not a perfect situation having to wait as I have already mentioned, but I do understand things can't always be timed accurately. Overall I was happy with my experience at Bloc and of course I will be booking again in the future... and most important of all... my hair looked absolutely beautiful when I left.
